About the Artist
Sarasota Artist Debbie Rich – Mosaics, Collage & Assemblage
After more than four decades of dedicated service with the Social Security Administration, Debbie Rich did what so many of us only dream about — she retired and went all in on her passion.
A New York native who has proudly called Sarasota, Florida her full-time home for over six years, Debbie (also known as Debra Rich) is now a mixed-media artist specializing in handcrafted 3D mosaics, collage, found-object assemblage and commissions. Art was always calling her name, and the moment she retired, she answered. She dove headfirst into classes covering mosaics, assemblage, and collage. and quickly found her creative voice in the pieces that felt most alive to her.
Her work has been shown throughout the Sarasota area, and she's proud to have sold numerous pieces to collectors who connect with her vision. Every work Debbie creates carries the energy of someone who waited a lifetime to fully express herself — and is making every moment count.
You can explore and purchase her original art and custom commissions right here on this site. Welcome to her world.

After retiring from a long career with the Social Security Administration, I finally had the time and space to explore the creative passions I’d carried with me for years. Studying mosaics, assemblage, and collage helped me reconnect with the artistic voice I’d always felt inside.

I specialize in handcrafted 3D mosaics, collage, mixed‑media pieces, and found‑object assemblage. Many of my works incorporate ceramic tile, glass, paper, beads, and unexpected materials that add texture and personality.
-
Every piece is designed and handcrafted in my Sarasota, Florida studio. I work with a mix of traditional and unconventional materials to create art that feels vibrant, dimensional, and full of character.

Yes. I create custom mosaics, mixed‑media pieces, assemblage works, and pet portraits. Clients often come to me with colors, themes, or sentimental objects they’d like incorporated into a piece, and I collaborate with them to bring their ideas to life.
-
I’m inspired by color, texture, and the beauty of everyday objects. I love transforming simple or overlooked materials into expressive works that feel joyful, whimsical, or deeply personal.

My artwork has been exhibited throughout the Sarasota area and collected by people who connect with its energy, texture, and storytelling.
