This handcrafted collage by Sarasota artist Debra Rich is a portrait of Jazz, built from upcycled materials in layered, textured detail. Jazz was a music dog, so sheet music — cut up and painted — forms the body of the portrait; her nose is a rock, her collar is one of Jazz’s actual old collars, and her name tag was made at a pet store. The background is a richly textured black paper.
